Once Again the lack of Seamanship and control of vessels entering and leaving Sutera Harbour Marina came to light. Ferries continue to disregards the COLREGS that apply to all vessels of any size in tidal waters. The latest incident involved a yacht that was leaving under power, when a speedboat ferry coming in from the islands at speed, appeared around the breakwater, crossing in front of the yacht to pass on the wrong side forcing the yacht into the middle of the channel, A second speedboat, was following the first one and again passed on the wrong side. The Skippers of these speedboats carrying passengers are supposed to have certificates issued by Jabatan Laut Malaysian Marine Department. But they seem to be in total ignorance of their responsibilities. One day soon an Innocent tourist or visitors will be injured, by their reckless driving.
